Methamphetamine
Crystal meth, short for methamphetamine, is a highly addictive stimulant known for its powerful and long-lasting effects. It significantly increases energy and alertness, but also poses serious health risks, including addiction, heart problems and mental health issues.
In Germany, methamphetamine is not used medically and is a strictly illegal substance. On the street it is commonly referred to as "crystal", "meth", "methamphetamine", or "pervitin", the latter being a historical reference to a methamphetamine-based drug used during the Second World War. The drug is particularly common in border regions near the Czech Republic, from where it is often smuggled into Germany.
