Magic mushrooms
Magic mushrooms, also known as "magic mushrooms" or "psilos", are psychoactive mushrooms that contain the active ingredient psilocybin. In Germany, they are often referred to by street names such as "Schwammerl", "Pilze" or simply "mushrooms". Magic mushrooms are known for their mind-altering properties and are used by some people for spiritual experiences, self-exploration or creative inspiration.
In the past, they were also used in traditional rituals in various cultures. Currently, there is increasing interest in research into possible therapeutic applications of psilocybin, for example in the treatment of depression or anxiety. In recreational use, consumers appreciate the intense visual and emotional experiences that magic mushrooms can evoke.
